Q: How is PEACE Isla Mujeres raising funds? A: PEACE Isla Mujeres raises funds through a number of avenues. We hold events (such as our New Year’s Eve and Mardi gras parties); we sell products made specifically for PEACE Isla Mujeres; we solicit private donations, corporate sponsorships and philanthropic giving ;and we apply for grant funding.
Q: What is PEACE doing with the funds raised? A: The majority of the funds that are raised are used to award grants to those doing nonprofit work in the community. We also use a portion of the funds for our Community Emergency Fund, seed money for new PEACE Isla Mujeres investment projects and administrative costs. Q: How does PEACE work with in-kind donations and volunteers? A: PEACE Isla Mujeres has many connections and relationships in the community and when the opportunities arise for an in-kind donation or for volunteer efforts we are able to work with our community partners and refer the donations/volunteers to organizations where they will make the greatest impact. PEACE Isla Mujeres also uses in-kind donations and volunteers to help raise funds for the organization.
Q: If I want to make a donation is it tax-deductible? A: Yes! We are a registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization in the United States and we are able to provide a tax-deductable receipt for your donation.
